Personal money skills are used every day!
According to the National Endowment for Financial Education, one in five teens is financially illiterate. More than 80% of individuals who create a budget fail to follow it. These alarming statistics, along with many more and my professional experience, influenced my passion to help others learn about personal money basics.
The Chinese proverb, “Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime,” should apply to money knowledge. Give an individual a budget, you help them for a day. Teach an individual money management, they can manage their money wisely for a lifetime. Teens who gain a solid foundation in finances manage their money better in adulthood.
